Happy Bloomsday!

Ulysses

Mythic Worlds, Modern Words

Today is Bloomsday! June 16th being the day which James Joyce’s book Ulysses takes place (700+ pages in a single day.)

If you’ve never read it, it is about the most difficult book I’ve ever read. It greatly helps to read Campbell’s work Mythic Worlds, Modern Words to decipher it. It is celebrated today all around the world by being read outloud. If anyone would like to hear it outloud, Librivox has recordings of Ulysses for free to download! Of course the best fun is hearing how much they mess up because that book is such a tongue twister. (The first chapter is great, when they mess up so much the guy with the violin starts playing again haha.)
